Offline and underground
A Mumbai local train app that works offline — and underground
The full timetable, every station and 26,000+ places are on your phone. Metro Line 3 tunnels, packed platforms, dead zones — the plan never disappears.
- Trip planning, next trains and place search with no signal
- Timetable and places refreshed by small, checksum-verified updates when you are online
- The map's background tiles need a connection; your route and stations still show
Multimodal, with fares
One trip, every mode, real fares
A true Mumbai metro app and local train app in one search: Western, Central and Harbour locals, Metro Lines 1, 2A, 3 and 7, Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1, BEST buses, walking and autos — ranked and explained.
- Options labelled Recommended, Fastest, Cheapest, Least walking and Fewest changes
- Approximate fares for every leg, including the September 2026 auto and taxi tariff — always as a range
- Metro and bus routes from OpenStreetMap; transfers between nearby stations and stops
Places, offline
Search 26,000+ Mumbai places, offline
Areas, housing societies, offices, malls, colleges and bus stops — the places people actually say when they give directions, searchable with no network.
- Nearest station from anywhere, with the walk to it
- Save Home and Work for one-tap commutes; recent searches stay on the phone
- Place data from OpenStreetMap (ODbL), refreshed with the app's updates
Timetable
Next trains at every station
Departures from any station, filtered by direction, fast or slow and AC, with every stop each train makes. When you need a ticket, one tap opens RailOne or Mumbai One.
- Published weekday timetable for Western, Central, Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines
- Metro frequencies and first/last trains for every line
- Times can change on the day — the app says so and marks estimates with ~
Privacy
Nothing leaves your phone
No account. No ads. No analytics SDKs. Location is used only while the app is open, and Home, Work, saved places and history stay on the device.
- Google Play data safety: no data collected, no data shared
- The only network requests are map tiles and the small timetable updates
- Open source — read the code, not just the privacy policy

Questions
Questions people ask before they switch
Does Next Station work offline on the Mumbai local train?
Yes. The suburban timetable, every station, the metro lines and 26,000+ places are stored on your phone, so trip planning, place search and next-train times work with no signal — including underground on Metro Line 3. Only the map’s background tiles need a connection; your route, stations and results still show without one.
Which Mumbai metro lines does it cover?
Metro Lines 1, 2A, 3 and 7, plus Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1, with transfers to and from the Western, Central and Harbour lines. Lines 2B and 9 will be added once their services are verified.
Is Next Station a multimodal transit app?
Yes. One search combines local trains, metro, BEST buses, walking and autos or taxis, and shows the options side by side as Recommended, Fastest, Cheapest, Least walking and Fewest changes, each with an approximate fare range.
Which is the best Mumbai transit app when there is no signal?
If the plan has to survive a dead zone, Next Station is built for exactly that: timetables, places and the routing engine are on the phone. Google Maps needs a connection for transit directions, m-Indicator stores timetables but does not plan door to door across trains, metro and buses, and Mumbai One needs a connection and an account. We do not show live train positions — times are scheduled, and estimates are marked with ~.
Is it free? Are there ads or an account?
Free, with no ads and no sign-up. Your location and saved places never leave your phone.
Is Next Station available on iPhone?
Android first. There is no iOS version yet.
Where do the timetables and fares come from?
Published suburban timetables, official metro run times, OpenStreetMap data for metro and bus routes (ODbL) and the September 2026 MMRTA auto and taxi tariff. Fares are shown as ranges, never exact amounts, because they depend on class, ticket type and the exact route.
Does Next Station sell tickets?
No. When you need a ticket it opens RailOne for locals or Mumbai One for the metro, and for a ride it opens Uber, Ola or Rapido. What you do in those apps is covered by their own terms.
